CONTRACT TO BUILD A 60M INNOVATIVE LONGLINER

05/05/2014

CAP BOURBON ship-owner (LE GARREC Group) has just confirmed PIRIOU the order for a 60 m freezer longliner designed for austral fishing in the South Indian Ocean.

The vessel, to be delivered at the end of 2015 by PIRIOU’s Vietnamese shipyard, will be built according to a design by Norwegian naval architects SKIPSTEKNISK.

CAP BOURBON again chose PIRIOU 12 years after the building of its «Cap Horn I» longliner in 2002. This vessel is the 7th austral longliner after the 55 m series delivered in 2001, 2002 and 2009. PIRIOU built « l’Ile Bourbon » and « Albius » (SAPMER), « Mascareignes III » (Armas Pêche managed by SAPMER), « Cap Horn I » (CAP BOURBON), « l’Ile de La Réunion » (Comata), « Saint-André » (Pêche Avenir) after lengthening and redesigning « Croix du Sud » for SAPMER.
